Among other places, Ponmudi is one of the places to visit in Kerala. If you are an ardent lover of nature then this is the place to go and is near to the capital city Thiruvananthapuram. Nelliyampathy is a hill station 60 kilometres from Palakkad. The whole Nelliyampathy hills is known to have belonged to Vengunad Kovilakam of Kollengode , who then leased out vast tracts of this virgin forest area to the British Government of Madras Presidency.
A very interesting place and famous for its backwaters known as Alleppey (or Alapuzha). The most common way to explore backwaters is to hire a houseboat for few hours or even spend a night in the boat. It’s also a very popular tourist destination in Kerala. Street foods are a must try here especially fish related dishes, Shrimps and biryani.
Complete with misty mountains, splendid forests, pristine rivers and cascading waterfalls, Wayanad is ‘the’ hill station of choice in South India. Wayanad is a rural district in Kerala. Kochi is home to Cochin Stock Exchange, the only stock exchange in Kerala. It has also been a port since 1341 and merchants from Arabs, China and European had a major influence on this city and can be seen in buildings, usage of Cantilevered Chinese fishing nets etc.. A hill station and former resort for the elite during British rule, surrounded with tea plantations established in the late 19th century. Munnar is a very popular travel destination among Indians and foreign tourists. Eravikulam National Park, a habitat for the endangered mountain goat Nilgiri tahr and also home to the Lakkam Waterfalls, hiking trails and 2,695m-tall Anamudi Peak is all a part of Munnar.
Thekkady is another popular destination among tourists and is usually clubbed with Munnar trip. It’s a great place to spend your Jungle vacation.
